One of the ways I've found (and maybe the easiest) to compress or reduce the size of photos is to email them to myself. On the picture Right click and one of your options will be to "send to." From there the link will be something like "mail recipient" (I believe the wording may be a little different depending on the operating system you have). Then you'll have a choice to reduce it's size before you email it. Pick your size, email it to yourself. The copy you receive in the email will be smaller and you can save that one and use it for posting and stuff.
Your pictures are really not that large, when considering file size. They are actually quite small - under 250kb. You shouldn't be having this problem. What happens when you try to do more than one?
