Festival of Trees 2010

So it is that time of year again and time for another tradition up here in Edmonton. Last weekend we went to the Festival of Trees in support of the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation. And this year Amy was back to join Bailey and I in the fun. Here's some of the pictures courtesy of Amy and me.

Activities started off with Mini Tree Decorating, Gingerbread Man Decorating, Tree Ornaments, and Santa Hats.

Bailey and Amy in the bubble. Notice I got Amy right as her bubble popped.

Next we checked out some of the trees

So we have a Mickey & Minnie Tree, a Firefighters Tree (that's my favorite), a Medical Supplies Tree from the Hospital, a Penguin Tree and what I call The Bubble Tree (bubbles were just near by). There was also a tree shaped like a dress but the picture didn't work out.

Here are some of the Gingerbread Houses and Cakes Decorated for the festival. The first one in the Alberta Legislature in Gingerbread. This one and the second cake were award winners from the gluten-free bakery Kinnikinniks.

As you can see there's something for just about everyone.

The next stop was to check out what the money being raised was going to and we hopped into a surgery while we were at it.

And of course, what trip to a christmas festival would be complete without a trip to see the big man himself, Santa Clause.

Well I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Hope to see you all soon.

Great Photos - what's with the masks? Planning an armed robbery in the near future?
